To those not in the Midwest ie: Indiana. Enjoy your not below freezing temperatures, your lack of wind gusts 40+ mph, and not having over a foot of heavy snow slush icy stuff EVERYWHERE. currently most of central Indiana is on emergency travel only lockdown. A lot of people are without electricity, grocery stores are out of a lot of food, and the snow is so heavy that is breaking trees and downing powerlines, in fact I've heard two receivers caught fire and exploded. So thats indiana winter ya'll! |

Yeah it's terrible. My county is still under a travel warning so I can't even go anywhere. |

thats actually pretty funny! but yeah, i am hulled up in a huge house in the middle of the woods Martinsville, Indiana with just my cat. luckily my electricity only went off a tiny bit last night and was back on in no time i didnt even notice until i went to use the microwave. theres a lot of fallen limbs and stuff around, my car is parked far enough away and theres enough tree coverage and snow i cant hardly see it, let alone get to it. where i work was closed today and will most likely be tomorrow as well. since i was sick with the flu this past week, the last time i was at work was dec 30, so i am going rather stir crazy. hoping to be able to get to work by the end of the week. good luck to everyone else! oh! i know that Naggy and a friend of his went out in full on ski gear face mask included and 'hiked' through town. he said it was so cold outside that his phone shut off!! |

Ashley is correct about my "snowventure" and I have pictures to prove it ![]() It was a bizarre experience walking down the main roads and seeing almost no automobiles at all. |

It was about the same temp Sarah said, -10 but feeling around -30 to -40. We didn't have any snow though, and our university's kind of too stuck up/proud to give us any days off |

not that im aware of, he texted me earlier today lol. im not sure how hes holding up though, mostly hes asked if im feeling better since i had the flu, but hasnt mentioned much in regards to how it is in his area. also, most schools in central indiana have been off monday and tuesday and will remain closed tomorrow as well. a lot of businesses are too. we had a jackknifed semi close down our main interstate in central area, therefore the highway running north/south that is most commonly used has been backed up bad. and is still incredibly icy, they lifted the travel warnings too early, imo. im shut in alone with my cat until friday, where hopefully i can find a snow shovel and can make it to work, im about to go crazy. |

I for one welcome our new winter overlords! I love the cold! Ohio isn't as bad as MI or WI, but it's still well below 10 or even 0 most of the time and heavy winds make it worse. Good thing I'm taking online classes this winter~ Protip: if you have to go outside, breathe through your nose instead of your mouth; the air travels a greater distance in your respiratory and reduces the chance of your throat getting frostbitten. |

Well I live in northern KY and travel to southern Indiana regularly. Apparently, we got lucky and they were predicting a few inches for us and got like maybe one inch and some ice. So it wasn't as bad as everyone was predicting. Monday was the coldest day, getting down below 0. We haven't seen negative temps around here in several years or longer. I work at a restaurant that makes a lot of money, yet we haven't had heat for almost a week. And as a result of the freezing temps, guess what started happening yesterday? Not one, but two pipes burst in the restaurant yesterday and had to closedown twice. Electric heaters they buy for the employees aren't even helping that much. Luckily, I was off Monday and am off today and tomorrow. I hate winter and am relieved we missed a lot of the snow. Apparently Arc has been telling me that it is really bad there though. I know Indiana usually doesn't have to deal with a lot of snow, but I guess this was the year for a bad storm to finally hit. |
