Apparently, my optic nerve is huge. Also, it turns out that I can't read a damn thing for the life of me out of my right eye when it's dilated. :P

Oh no, will you be able to read out of it again with a followup surgery?

Well, thankfully it wasn't for a procedure and it won't have a followup; it was for practicing the use of an ophthalmoscope to look at optic nerve!

I used to get my pupils dilated all the time for eye exams, strangely they've stopped doing it for the last ~5 years. Maybe they just don't need to any more for routine checkups?

either way it's always weird having them dilated for a while afterwards.

If you go to an ophthalmologist for your eye exams, they don't usually dilate your pupils since they have some fancy equipment to take pictures of the inside of your eye. From what I understand, dilation of the pupil for the routine ophthalmologic exam doesn't happen much anymore.

Optometrists and ophthalmologists are cool. As long as I can remember I've had my eyes dilated every time. I don't mind honestly, I'm pretty used to it now -- I actually enjoy going because I know what to expect. My last exam was like... last August so maybe they stopped doing it in September, idk

Oh yes, I just love dilating my pupils for fun. No other reason.

It's for medical school.

Pupil dilation is all the rage with the kids these days.

I think Colorado and Washington state legalized pupil dilation.
