I installed a new 840 EVO into my rig, and put Windows 8.1 on it. It's not nearly as bad as everyone says, especially after downloading Classic Shell to get Windows Aero + the Start Menu back. Anyone else rocking Windows 8/8.1? |

Yep. Hated it when I first used it, but after a couple days I didn't mind it at all. Windows 7 was still better though. |

Holy crap, Ody, are we psychically linked? I got an 840 EVO about a week back and also installed Windows 8.1 and the thing to get the start menu back. GET OUT OF MY HEAD! |

I've literally never had one problem with Windows 8 >_> honestly i think there's just a weird stigma with it, where people hate it just because other people hate it. but in reality nobody has any real reason to hate it |

WHY YOU What capacity did you get? I got the 250 gb one, and nabbed for $125 off of TigerDirect! @Sub: I like Windows 7 better too, but only because I'm so dang used to it. Windows 8 has better "under the hood" performance though. |

I only went with the 120GB one. Figured I'd just install my OS and some programs on it. It's-a pretty nice.

The problem with Windows 8 was that its implementation of the new start menu/app system to appeal to the tablet market was awkward for PC users. The aesthetics of the UI looks good and Windows 8.1 + Classic Shell alleviates some the issues. Its not a Windows Vista in any case. Windows Phone 8 UI, on the other hand, is great if you overlook its lack of third party apps. |

I feel more comfortable with Windows 7. I use Windows 8, but I always go straight to the Desktop. All the Apps on the start up menu are not very useful to me. I am a computer basics kind of girl though. |
