I decided to make this topic primarily as a means to clean up the pinned section of the strategy and tactics board so that it is less overwhelming to new players. This is also for all of you lovely people I've recently met (and came out of nowhere) that want to get better.

I have listed these links in order of importance. Knock yourselves out!

Useful Spells for Competitive Wifi Play
Read this before you read anything else. It lists all of the viable spells for online play. You should learn as many as you can and memorize the ones listed as staple spells. There is also a handy commentary for each spell that tells you how they can be used.

Timings for the Spells- Complete
Comprehensive list documenting how long effects will last for commonly used spells.

Getting Started Board
Great starting point for learning basic and intermediate concepts. It may be geared towards beginners, but its resources are useful even to seasoned veterans.

Playing to Win
This is a really great article about the mindset that goes into playing competitively and improving.

Advanced Terminology and Tactics
I'm not entirely sure how important this section is, but it was pinned before so I might as well list it here.

Spell Tier List - Best and Worst Spells
This is outdated but it is a great starting point.

How to Win
A topic I wrote a few years ago on the philosophy behind competition. Definitely worth the read if you want to be good.

Underrated Spells
Not formatted, but worth the read.

Forgotten Tactics
This isn't comprehensive in any way, but definitely worth a read as well.

Archive Board
Don't forget this one! While it is last, it is certainly not least. We have all sorts of important stuff not listed in this topic that you should check out on your own time including a complete spell list of every spell in the game.

To think, all these years of testing and playing boiled down to a single list of topics and an archive.

Thanks for the links Nagz. These bring back old times, simpler times...

This is perfect for my thought of possibly getting back into Lost Magic. I remember the easy times when all of this wasn't really known or at least not this easily compiled and accessible...

My friend Rob, who i recently met, wants to get better. If either of you decide to play, you should ask him for a challenge.

NaEG, you should add this to your link pile:

http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win-part-1.html

It's pretty much a justification for LostMagic "glitching" as well as encouragement for self improvement and meta game understanding. I remember Gus mentioning it.

I completely forgot about this article. Seeing it again now, I remember reading it and having a serious change in mindset for playing LostMagic and other games I'm interest in.
