He could be referring to how the fight against the golems was hard. Did he tell you he attempted it (not necessarily completing it)?

That was all we talked about it.

I'm up to chapter 4 and I'd best describe this as unforgiving. Think about spending all this time mapping out the perfect strategy, spending 4 minutes doing that strategy, and then have your monsters kill a monster mid capture animation and that's 4 minutes wasted. That's happened to me plenty of times.

I'm on an easier version of that wraith level in chapter 4. Maybe it is the only version. My memory is foggy. I found out what to do. A regular fire2 with a 3 in fire leaves with enough HP to capture them. Now I just need to figure out how block up those portals they instantly respawn from.

Update: This is hard. I have the strategy down. Use IS Silfeeds. Send out 1 silfeed to mc next to Isaac, send others to MC below them, buff speed. Wait for Silfeed to capture MC next to Isaac, make him go over portal, send Isaac out. Buff speed again and glitch while the Silfeeds go after the right MC. Have Isaac capture shogs with perfect fire1 and make your way to the lower left MC and use a Silfeed to block the portal. Go up to upper level and kill some Shogs or get the Wraith attacking your Silfeed and heal silfeed if HP is low enough. Go to Right, buff up your silfeeds PD twice. Send them up there to get the attention of all the wraiths will healing him while you bring him back. Use wall to block wraiths and send up Silfeed to block portal then use Fire2 and capture all 8 wraiths 1 by 1 then defeat the wraiths from the middle portal. That part with the 8 wraiths is just insane. No room for error. And how easy it is to make an error with the gaps, the short attention span of the wraiths, and the fact that the wraiths can just move a little and float over the gaps and gang up on you.

It took me an hour of tries but yesterday I tried for 2 hours as well as plenty other times throughout the day before that. I think I had about 30 seconds left. Aside from 2 or 3 levels the time limit hasn't really been a factor so far but I suspect that will change when I get to chapter 5.

As of this posting I am up to the start of the path to the mist master on chapter 5 having already defeated the other 2 sages. The game has gotten much easier since chapter 4. The fire sage starts right in front of you. The stone general no longer has 3 crystals around and seems more interested in buffing himself than healing his monsters. The monsters just walk right at you on the upper path to the fire sage and the portals and circling patterns that made the level before her so hard in chapter 3 are gone too. There is one level that went against all of this even being sandwiched in between the really easy stone general fight and the easy right path to him. It is the stone golem level. It took me plenty of hours of tries to come up with a strategy to beat the timer and I'd say an hour then to get it work. Seems strange for the developers to put in this huge road block that even gave me a hard time on my regular file and make everything easy.

If you're interested in knowing how hard this is just know at the beginning you have to kill 3 stone golems and a brown shog as fast you can, put all your guys but one shog just above the spikes. Just that one shog to get the 3 rune gnome circling the area, the other one around the MC, and the 2 shogs around the portal following him, go to the portal then lead Isaac to the MC all the while constantly having to direct your shog to the wall or it will try to attack the Rune Gnomes around it and thus make them scatter. Then you need to send Isaac in and have him cast a perfect Fire2+Wind1 with a 5 in Wind and then go out and capture the shogs while healing Isaac and doing all you can to stop the shog from attacking the rune gnomes. Its easy from there but if you get just 1 of the 3 rune gnome lose interest in your shog at the start which is easy unless you constantly make him stop and continue it's basically over right there considering the little time you have to kill 7 stone golems around the map with the 4 of them having MCs next to them.

Edit: I'll probably finish this tomorrow. I've gotten up the the level before getting trio runes. Also on an interesting side note I'm at level 8 not 9.

Just finished this. I didn't save because I'll be getting some pics later today but as far as I'm concerned assuming Mara didn't do it fatratkni isn't the only guy to have done this anymore. A few notes:

*I finished at level 8, not 9
* Top 3 hardest levels

1. Wraith respawning level
2. Stone Golem level before Earth Sage 2
(big gap)
3. Mist Master 1

*I didn't have the mana to use a trio rune spell but the final battle was pretty easy. You could just rush the Diva with Red Shogs like in single mode
* The time limit was a factor in a few of the levels but only find myself finishing with 1 second left like fatratkni was talking about 1 time early on in a file I later saved over accidentally. However, I did somehow finish the level on the right path before Mist Master 1 with 0:00 remaining.
* Aside from the level before getting Trio runes and the stone golem level Chapter 5 was much easier than chapter 4 and storyline wise felt pretty rushed. I'll be making a topic about that soon.
* The only time I ever used the buff glitch was on the Wraith level. It could have been useful at a few other points but I didn't bother because I knew fatratkni only used it once in his run and I assume the Wraith level was that point.
* I'll soon be starting new game+ and getting a Knight Orkus to show people on Wi-Fi.

*SPOILERS*

Completed this this morning. I was level 8 at the end not level 9.

Blurry but you can still tell it's level 8 not 9. And if anyone here wants to then post your FC and I can show you my level 8 Isaac using a Knight Orkus. My FC is 1847-8898-9869. Also I'd be interested in playing you TC if you ever find you game. I've gotten much better since I last played you as Gus.

Rest assured, I've gotten much worse since I last played against you (lack of practice, that is, it's been a long since I last played), so even if I do find the game, I'll be trampled a dozen times before I realized what hit me. If I recall, you've exceeded my skill just before I stopped.

Dang... Where'd I pick up the extra EXP to hit level 9, anyway? It's nice knowing there's still someone out there, willing to try out a challenge.

This topic's title is: Specific. I'm not trying to find filler text to fill this line. Not at all... Eh? This is a filler?

Well I may not be the first to do a low level but maybe I was the first to finish it at level 8. Also on a side note it's pretty awesome to be told by an old pro the guy I was hoping all these years I had lived up to that I had surpassed his skill by the end.
