IMO this doesnt change anything. since you cannot debuff speed by urself it is useless to try. i dont debuff peoples speed so when i abyss someone they cant glitch.
for me an actually useful glitch would be a glitch that can be used be urself. what are the chances someone is going to debuff you then swamp abyss?
Either way, I still discovered the counter to Swamp abyss, which countless pro's have said did not exist, so that's definitely worth something. Also, everyone's playing style is different, so just because you wouldn't do that, doesn't mean someone else wouldn't.
most people with an actual brain probably wouldnt. "swamp abyss lowers the speed to 0 anyway. so why debuff?" it is impossible by only ur meens on trying. i found out why this glitch works though. at least i think i do.
FALSE. Example: Enemy debuffs my isaac's speed. I bring in my hounds. He cast's swamp abyss to keep me from moving closer to him. Since Isaac is speed debuffed, he can prance on through the swamp abyss like nobody's business. No more annoying ground hindrance for isaac, so I can now get closer to him, catching him off guard and maybe launch an ice king or something, if the opportunity presents itself.
who would debuff isaacs speed? doesnt matter if its 1 unit or 9 units i would still swamp
Mana costs.
so?
You asked why anyone would ever use just a speed debuff rather than swamp abyss and I answered you. What more do you want? yes;

for the extra mana its worth it to swamp >.> i seriously see no upside to speed debuff comparing it to attack debuff, defense debuff, m.def debuff

No. I was saying that a simple speed debuff would be better than using swamp abyss if youre just using it on isaac because he can just teleport out of the swamp, but if you speed debuff him, it always affects him.

I wonder if the glitch would work if you overbuffed speed.
Anyone willing to try it?
taking a guess the glitch works like this, swamp abyss lowers it by its original speed + any boosts. but, it doesnt do debuffs, so when it goes to 0, then adds on he debuff...wait, that goes into negatives! so it negates the swamp abyss
Well, I'm thinking if if works like you think it would lower it to 0, then take away the buffs, which would put it past 0, into the negatives, it would work the same way.

There's one major problem I see with that NaEG. Why would you use a swamp abyss after you used a speed debuff? Interesting glitch, but it's just too difficult to actually be usefull.

You would use swamp abyss when they decided to send in their monsters for back up.

Don't worry about what I said, just see if overbuffing works for this glitch.
And anyway, even if it doesn't there are still occasions it would be useful. Lets say you were facing someone who wanted you to slow down enough so he could get away, but he wanted you to keep moving, he would speed debuff you, you glitch it over, then later he might actually want to stop you, so he would cast swamp abyss, and your monsters just run right through it.
It would be situational, but there could be uses for this, especially if we keep this to ourselves for a while, and you would have to layer the glitches, but again its perfectly plausable.

THATS PROBABLY THE MOST LIKELY SITUATION TO WORK oops, caps by accident, im almost vertain the overbuff doesnt work, because i use swamp on people who buff speed and it stops them,

I know it most likely won't work, but there is a possibility for it to work, so it should be tested.
And most people are intellegent enough not to overbuff, so it might not have happened before.
What I'm saying is the buffing itself might not stop it, but if you overbuff it, it might end up working.

You can't overbuff speed. I've tried.

Nope, I just tested it. Also I want to try out some other spells that might trigger this glitch if someone can help me test them.
